Our Founder

Meet the leader behind HomeOwnership4u's mission to expand affordable homeownership.

Steven Bond

Steven Bond

Founder & CEO, HomeOwnership4u.org

Steven Bond has built a distinguished career in real estate and development, earning recognition as one of the top 10 producers across the entire RE/MAX International network for several years between 2010 and 2017, and holding the title of Utah's top producer for seven consecutive years.

After his sales career, Steven co-founded a multifamily development company that attracted investors from around the world for projects across Utah, Idaho, Texas, and Arizona. That experience sharpened his ability to identify unmet needs in the market and transform them into lasting value for both investors and communities.

Transitioning from business leadership to volunteer service, Steven served as President of the Utah Central Association of REALTORS® in 2020 and on the Utah Association of REALTORS® executive team from 2023 to 2026, including as State President in 2025. Through this work, he recognized a critical gap in the housing system: while policymakers and city leaders were making strides, the development cycle itself lacked the structure and incentives needed to produce sustainable, attainable ownership.

As a father of five, Steven's drive is deeply personal. He sees the consequences when rising generations postpone family formation and wealth-building because ownership feels out of reach. HomeOwnership4U was born from his conviction that housing must again serve as a foundation for stability, opportunity, and community.

Justin Earl

Justin Earl

Chief Development Officer

Justin Earl brings nearly two decades of experience navigating the full real estate development lifecycle, with a focus on aligning land use, regulation, capital, and design to deliver projects that serve both communities and long-term viability. His work has spanned thousands of residential units across a range of housing types, giving him a deep, practical understanding of how development decisions impact affordability outcomes on the ground.

Justin’s commitment to HomeOwnership4U is grounded in first hand exposure to where the housing system consistently breaks down. He has seen how land costs, entitlement friction, regulatory complexity, and capital structures—often unintentionally—limit the scalability of affordable ownership models. He believes that disciplined, mission-driven nonprofit development can correct these inefficiencies by redesigning the development process itself, not just subsidizing the result.

With formal training and a masters degree in real estate development, finance, and planning, Justin brings a systems-oriented mindset to the board. His background includes work with zoning frameworks, public-private coordination, and financial modeling—tools he sees as essential to creating repeatable, city-aligned housing solutions.

Justin is a husband and father of five. His motivation is personal as well as professional: ensuring that future generations have access to stable, attainable paths to homeownership and community belonging.

Guiding belief: “Well-designed systems can create opportunity at scale.”

Melanie Lee

Marketing & Storytelling Manage

Melanie Lee serves as the Social Media Manager for HomeOwnership4U, where she leads the organization’s digital storytelling efforts to authentically reflect its mission and impact. Her work centers on bridging the gap between community and company—translating complex housing initiatives into clear, compelling narratives that resonate with real people and build trust.

While early in her professional career, Melanie brings a mature, service-driven perspective shaped by meaningful hands-on experience. She spent five months teaching English in the Dominican Republic and later completed an 18-month unpaid mission for her church, working closely with individuals from diverse backgrounds and life circumstances. These experiences strengthened her belief in the power of empathy, listening, and purpose-centered communication, as well as her tendency to approach life and work through a positive, forward-looking lens.

As the second oldest in a family of eight, Melanie learned early the importance of hard work, responsibility, and pursuing goals with intention. She believes social media, when used thoughtfully, can be a powerful force for good—amplifying stories of hope, opportunity, and belonging. Deeply aligned with HomeOwnership4U’s values, she is inspired by the organization’s commitment to expanding attainable homeownership and strengthening communities for future generations.

Outside of work, Melanie enjoys spending time with family and friends, living life to the fullest through helping others, and traveling whenever she has the opportunity.
